[news.eclipse.platform.swt] Re: Swing port is coming - Lotus assists IBM!

No you don't, if you start using Swing features, you'd be stuck to running on top of the Swing port, just like when you use the SWT ActiveX bridge, you're stuck with Windows.
And who forces you to use swing features - nobody.
It is already possible to embed Swing in SWT and so you already can get stucked with Swing - but how cares?

If programmers are too stupid to see that their code depeneds on swing its not SWT's fault, simply the programmers are too stupid.
And exactly those programmers who do not unerstand stuff like this, absolutly do not care at all about platform-independence or free java runtimes since they can download java for free and run windows.

Btw. why should I use Swing at all in my SWT-on-Swing application if SWT provides me everything I need to create wonderful applications? -> Ahhh?!
