[news.eclipse.platform.swt] Popup menus in KDE

I am running eclipse 3.1RC3 (GTK build) under Linux (Debian) using Sun JDK (build 1.5.0_01-b08). I've recently switched window managers and started using KDE. For some reason this has meant that the popup auto-completion menus in eclipse are broken. The currently selected item is no longer highlighted, making selection rather difficult. The motif build does not have this problem, but is (imho) somewhat uglier, and I'd rather not use it. (They grey background on the editor is particularly annoying)

Any suggestions?
