Not to beat a dead horse, but with the way this RCP is distributed the top level 
directory is not writeable, and there is no configuration directory.

Also, I looked where Darin suggested in the .metadata directory of the directory 
I defined with -data, and all that's in there is a .log file and
dialog_settings.xml in the workbench plugins directory.  The xml file is empty 
except for the xml declaration.  So, you can see why this is driving me crazy - 
I know this data has to be cached somewhere on this machine!
