[news.eclipse.newcomer] japanese support on eclipse CDT

I have imported my code into my workspace which have japanese characters 
in them. The japanese characters show up as Ascii equivalents on the 
editor. what settings/plugins are required to make them japanese ?

OS : Linux Centos 5.x
ECLIPSE CDT : Version: 3.4.1.

These are the project properties that I have set for the resources :  
Text file encoding : Inherited from container(UTF-8)
