I would not expect flawless behavior of 32bit applications on a 64-bit OS, especially something complex like a JVM. Have you even tried the 64-bit JDK and Eclipse?
Yes I've tried them. The 64 bit of eclipse pops up the error messages attached. But the java 64 bit version is installed in 'C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_10\' and the 32 bit version in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Java>'.
You need to explicitly specify the JVM for Eclipse to use. You can do it either as a command-line argument to eclipse.exe or via the eclipse.ini file. This topic is discussed many times in the newsgroup - you can find the details with just a little searching.
Hope this helps, Eric
