[news.eclipse.newcomer] BIRT report does not display charts

Hi all,
I am using BIRT 2.2M4 build. I created a birt report with bar chart and
report details connecting to a DB2 database. The chart and data is
displayed and works perfectly within the Eclipse environment. I export
the project(EAR file) and deployed in a WebSphere 6.0 environment. When I
run the application the data is displayed without any problem, but the
chart is missing. The format of the chart is JPG. I also tried with
other formats PNG, SVG and BMP but in vain.
Under the WebSphere 6.0 directory where the application is installed i see
all the necessary charting jar files like
org.eclipse.birt.chart.device.extension_2.2.0.v20061130.jar etc.
Also I don't see any error messages in the log file.
Is there any setting which I am missing ?
