You may want to break things out so that you end up with plug-ins that 
will work in a stock Eclipse Platform/IDE install and/or in your custom 
deluxe RCP application.  For your perl editor you may be able to 
leverage the eclipse perl editor from http://e-p-i-c.sourceforge.net/.
