I am installing eclipse for the first time on a Win XP box that is not
Internet connected. I have download all of my install files to a CD to
install on this machine. I have installed 1.4.2 versions of j2eesdk and
j2re from Sun. When I click on the eclipse.exe I get the Required Java
version error. If I start using the startup.jar in the ecilse folder it
starts fine. I have installed these same files on a different Win XP box
that is internet connected and can bring up eclipse from the exe. I have
done my best at completely removing all of the above software and
reinstalling with no change in the issue. I could work through the
startup.jar, but I am going to be developing a major application for a
customer on this box and would like to understand the issue.
