[news.eclipse.newcomer] Why is Ant (org.eclipse.ant.ui) not part of the Eclipse Platform distribution?

I just noticed that there is no Ant editor available in the simple Eclipse Platform - the plugin org.eclipse.ant.ui is not part of eclipse-platform-3.0.2-win32.zip. On the other hand, the Workbench User Guide clearly states that the Ant tools should belog to the platform. What is the reason for this oddity ?

I copied org.eclipse.ant.ui from my eclipse-SDK-3.0.2-win32 installation directory into my eclipse-platform-3.0.2-win32 installation directory. Then I restarted the Platform. There still is no Ant Editor !? And then I open the About dialog to check the list of installed plugins: org.eclipse.ant.ui is not listed ! What can I do now ?
