Please take a look at my the thread "UML diagrams" in the 'parent' 
eclipse.modeling.mdt.uml2.tools news group, in particluar at the post

Unfortunately, nothing changed since that time, and gmf resources/custom 
tempaltes are not actually provided.

Probably you may change it by issuing a bugzilla and voting for it.
