Thanks again for telling me the obvious. :-)
I modified the UML model I created from my Ecore model to add a
subsetted and a derived association, and as you explained, the
subsetting is generated, while the derived property/association end
results in an essentially empty (well, throwing an
UnsupportedOperationException) method body.
I will think about if and how to use it. I have access to Rational
Software Architect (my research group is in the IBM scholars program),
maybe this offers a suitable migration path from Rose to UML without the
somewhat lossy way via EMF/Ecore.
So if I now figure out how to use the OCL project (I don't know which
one... the UML2 OCL or the EMF OCL) to specify the derivations in the
model, I would be a happy camper.
