[news.eclipse.modeling.gmt.modisco] Re: web, cms, reverse engineering & modisco

Jean-Marie,

The subject of building "WEBware" to "MODELware" injectors
is of tremendous interest. I do not know who else is working on this
subject,
but this completely falls within the scope of the Modisco Eclipse project.

My suggestion would be to look also at the activities that have been going
on
for several years in the area of Web mining
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_mining).
Usually these contributions have not much used the potential of model
engineering,
but many of them should be at least partially adaptable.

We had a PhD thesis presented in our lab in this area in 2004 by Benjamin
Habegger.
His thesis is unfortunately in french
(http://www.habegger.fr/finals/habegger-these.pdf)
(as is usually the case for thesis passed in french universities which is a
pity),
but the 2004 state of the art and bibliography are quite interesting.

I am sure that model engineering may bring a lot of new possibilities to the
topics of Web Data Mining. A true "metamodel driven approach" may unify and
improve
the current practices.

Best regards,

Jean
