[news.eclipse.modeling.gmf] Always add border items to the same side

Hi,

Is there a way to always add border items to the same side of the parent. 
I.e: if i say add to west side and there is no space on that side then the 
parent figure should re-size in order to fit the child on its west side.

Any help or directions would be more then welcome...
