Senior *** Linux *** Systems Administrator

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for upgrading 8 Linux 
servers to more up to date versions of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. 
(currently 2.1).  He or she will also be responsible for upgrading our 
Oracle databases to Oracle 10g.  Several other software packages will need 
to be upgraded as well, including Apache, Tomcat, OpenLDAP, PHP, MySQL, 
and others.  In addition, the administrator will install and configure 
Tripwire software for security auditing of our systems. He or she will 
also be responsible for finishing the implementation of a shell script 
based distributed backup system uses in our server room.
The right candidate will have a thorough familiarity of Linux command line 
tools, shell scripts (bash, particularly), X Windows, and Linux 
configuration and performance tuning issues.  The candidate will have a 
working knowledge of IP networking and firewall configuration and sendmail 
configuration.

Duration: 	2 months of full time contract and part time thereafter
