Qualifications Desired:
? Expertise with web servers, WebSphere and J2EE.
? DBA-like expertise with DB2 and Oracle.
? Expertise with Java, especially critical sections of multi-threaded
code, caching strategies, and pooling strategies.
? Expertise with networking devices, such as intelligent switches,
firewalls, routers. Familiarity with basic network performance and
configuration, such as a DMZ.
? Solid understanding of the tradeoffs available between hardware and
software.
? Familiar with the critical issues for Web application capacity planning.
? Familiarity with application monitoring tools (e.g., HP Open View,
LoadRunner, Wiley Introscope for WebSphere, IBM Tivoli, etc.)
? Familiarity with development profiling tools (e.g., Jprobe, WSAD, etc.)
? Location: downtown San Francisco
? Duration: 12 months + contract with possible extension
? Start date: Monday August 1st
