The Solutions Architect is a hands-on technologist that can architect, 
design and engineer an application that is high-performance technical 
solution at the network application and database level.  A Java J2EE 
developer, who has broad experience in the area of architecture, has 
experience in the integration of J2EE solutions with applications running 
on other platforms.

The resource will also serve as a technical project lead responsible for 
the design and implementation of next-generation infrastructure components 
using emerging technologies. 


Qualifications desired:

? Minimum Bachelors degree in relevant field or equivalent educational 
qualification
? Minimum 10 years software development experience, including core 
enterprise business applications
? Advanced knowledge of Java programming language and J2EE architecture. 
? Advanced knowledge and experience of RDBMS, especially tuning of complex 
database queries 
? Ability to perform logical database design and understand physical 
database structures
? Advanced knowledge of key standard development tools.
? Working knowledge of other standard development tools: JProbe Suite, CVS
? Breadth of experience with multiple technologies and platforms
? Knowledge of and experience with legacy system integration
? Understanding of complex multi-user issues, concurrency and transaction 
management.
? Understanding of application resource consumption and application tuning
? Demonstrated experience with design and implementation of large-scale 
core business applications.
? Proficiency with desktop applications 
? Advanced working knowledge of all analysis, design and implementation 
disciplines in RUP, and strong knowledge of overall iterative software 
development lifecycle
? Strong OO analysis and design skills
? Excellent oral and written communication skills ? able to present, 
facilitate discussions, and lead mixed groups to conclusion.
? Basic Insurance industry knowledge.

? IBM Certified Enterprise Developer ? WebSphere Studio, V5.0
? Advanced knowledge of key standard development tools: WSAD/Eclipse, 
? Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for the Java 2 Platform Enterprise 
Edition
? IBM Certified for  eBusiness ?Solutions Designer
? In-depth knowledge of C/C++ programming language and experience 
programming real time applications.
? Detailed knowledge of SQL, including complex multi-table queries 
? Understanding of logical database design and physical database structures


?	Location: downtown San Francisco
?	Duration: 7 months + contract with possible extension
?	Start date: Monday August 1st
