[news.eclipse.helpwanted] Write Plug-ins in Santa Cruz

Join The Nios Team!

Nios II is a family of soft-core embedded processors with a general-purpose
32-bit RISC CPU architecture, optimized specifically for Altera FPGAs. For
more information see http://www.altera.com/products/ip/processors/nios2/.

Altera is increasing its investment in Nios by expanding the Nios
Engineering team. We're very excited about the huge potential of FPGA-based
embedded systems. If you're excited about changing the way embedded systems
are designed, we'd love to talk to you! We need to find 9 new team-members
who are:
- Smart.
- Able to get things done.
- Excited about FPGAs, embedded software, Nios, SOPC Builder, or all of the
above.
- Willing to learn new things.

All of these positions are in Altera's office in Santa Cruz, California,
where Nios and SOPC Builder came from. We don't like to pigeon-hole people
by skill-sets, but we do have some short-term projects that need new staff:
- Developing Eclipse plug-ins for Nios II IDE in Java. We want to grow Nios
II IDE into a class-leading software development tool.
- Improving the SOPC Builder bus-generator. We have great new ideas for
doing even more. You'll write complex Perl programs that generate
system-level HDL
- Growing the Nios II GNU toolchain. If you have an interest in compilers,
debuggers, and linkers-we've got plenty of juicy projects for you to bite
into.
- Adding functional features to the Nios II CPU core itself. Nios has come a
long way-but it's just the beginning.

Please respond to hotjobs@xxxxxxxxxx, with the word "Nios" in the subject
field, if you are interested in an engineering position on the Nios team. Be
sure to include your resume and any other relevant information about
yourself.
