Job Description (Senior/Principal Engineer, Core Tools Development Team):
Informatica is the leading provider of data integration products.
PowerCenter products are used by more than 2000 Global customers in every
market including Retail, Financial, Manufacturing, Services, Health,
Government, Supply Chain Management, to solve the data integration problems
in building Data Warehouses, Operational Data Stores, Data Migration and
Data Synchronization solutions.
The Product Development Group is responsible for research, development and
delivery of PowerCenter products that solve customers' problem as well as
help penetrate emerging markets. The product employs an adaptive
architecture to provide a plethora of rich services such - transformation,
connectivity, metadata, administration, reporting with high performance &
scalability, high degree of re-usability and extensibility. The product team
has secured many patents as result of breakthrough research and development.
Required Skills:
The position is suited for highly motivated and energetic individuals with a
desire to do research and development of innovative tools. You will be
responsible for the next generation of client tools developed on the Eclipse
platform.
Research and development includes areas such as:
- Developer tools for the Powercenter platform.
- Developing frameworks for tool extensibility.
- Developing user-interfaces for Powercenter metadata.
- Customized interfaces for various data integration technologies.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong Java programming skills.
- Good understanding of Windows GUI programming.
- Object oriented design and programming.
- Strong data structures and problem solving skills.
- Experience in developing desktop based applications.
- Good organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the full product lifecycle.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of C++.
- Knowledge of developing Eclipse RCP applications highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Swing programming.
