Siebel Systems is actively seeking experienced Senior/Lead/Staff
Software Engineers to join Siebel’s Next Generation Tools/Workbench
Engineering team in San Mateo, CA. This Engineering team is engaged in
delivering Siebel’s next generation application framework using cutting
edge technologies such as J2EE and .NET.
The successful candidates will contribute in defining the technology
roadmap and will architect, design, and implement Siebel’s next
generation tools products. Candidates will work closely with the Product
Marketing team to drive the functional specifications and participate in
all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle to enable highly
configurable and scalable deployments of Siebel applications across
multiple platforms.
Responsibilities:
* Design, develop and implement composite application builder framework
for configuring, authoring, and deploying out-of-the-box and custom
applications using standard technologies such as Java, Eclipse, Win
forms, C#, J#.
* Work with Product Marketing to provide technical input in deciding the
future technology roadmap, prioritize features and enhancements and
drive functional specifications from marketing requirements documents.
* Ensure high quality implementation by following software processes
including participating in design and code reviews, writing and
reviewing test plans with Quality Engineering and working with Systems
Engineering to produce highly scalable and performant code.
* Work with the Applications Engineering team to help build out of the
box horizontal and vertical industry applications.
* Work with Technical Support to review and resolve customer issues.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 3-5 years experience is required for Senior Software
Engineers, 5+ years experience for Lead Software Engineers, 7+ years
experience for Staff Engineers.
* A minimum of 3 years strong programming experience in C# or Java.
Programming experience with commercially available enterprise
applications is highly desirable.
* Excellent software development, object oriented and service oriented
design skills.
* Independently able to design and develop software components.
* Knowledge and expertise in RAD environments and technologies, such as
Microsoft VS.NET, Eclipse, Borland, Rational, etc. Previous experience
creating plug-ins for these tooling environments is a plus.
* Knowledge and expertise building enterprise applications. Knowledge or
experience with Siebel 7 applications is a strong plus.
* Background in, and working knowledge of, various OS and application
server platforms and APIs are a plus.
* Good analytical and communication skills
* Degree: BS/CS or equivalent is required, MS/CS is preferable.
