I certainly didn't mean to suggest that blame for the council being ineffective lies at Kevin's feet for not being present. It's apparently seen as ineffective even when he is present. ;-) The point is more that spotty attendance or representation really won't help the council function as well as perhaps it could. So while listening to Kevin explain things from the platform's perspective isn't a prerequisite for effectiveness, it surely wouldn't hurt either...

I have to disagree - I think that the AC needs to be effective whether a platform representative shows up or not, just as it needs to be effective whether an EMF representative shows up or not. If the AC requires the presence of a platform representative, then it becomes "projects listening to Kevin explain things" and, while interesting, that's not an effective collaborative community body.
