This person will design, develop, document, and support Graphical User 
Interfaces (GUI) for the SAS Merchandise Intelligence solution.

Duties 

Duties will include working as part of the development team to develop the 
SAS Merchandise Intelligence solution using the SAS Business Intelligence 
Architecture; Ensuring that GUI components conform to SAS usability and 
look and feel standards; Ensuring that supported client applications 
interface to other parts of the SAS system using prescribed protocols; 
Advising, assisting, and providing documentation and technical 
publications for customers and other SAS divisions regarding the user 
interface components of supported software solutions.  Duties also include 
performing programming tasks regarding other parts of supported solution 
as required. 

Qualifications

Essential

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial Design, Human-Computer 
Interations, or related fields 

5 years experience in software product development including 2 years 
experience in the development of GUI client applications 

Experience with rich client development in Java 

Experience with GUI design principles



Additional

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 

Good communication skills



Preferences

Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Industrial Design, Human-Computer 
Interactions, or related fields 

Knowledge of Eclipse, SWT and the Rich Client Platform 

Knowledge object oriented programming and design patterns 

Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform
