I-Logix, located in Andover, MA, is developing a UML based IDE for RT
software engineers, and has an immediate need in our Software Engineering
Group. We are a small, high-performance, result oriented and quality &
usability-focused team. This position is for an individual with proven
real-world experience. Candidates should be highly motivated to design and
implement a world-class desktop IDE application using Java technologies.
Proven success in and enthusiasm for a fast-paced environment with
aggressive development cycles is critical. Previous experience and
background in designing and implementing tools and/or IDE for software
developers is a big plus.
Responsibilities:
As an Eclipse GUI expert, you will be a key member of our team. You will
participate in a major Eclipse development effort, creating new UI
components and migrating existing concepts from other environments into
Eclipse. You will assume ownership for GUI subsystems, from architecture,
through design for usability and quality, and into implementation and
delivery testing. As part of your work you will:
(*) Present design proposals, mock up screens to peers and senior
management for feedback and review.
(*) Define, design and create working prototype as proof of concept for
major components.
(*) Participate in architectural reviews.
(*) Become a key player in the design implementation of UI components as
plug ins to the Eclipse Platform.
(*) Perform unit tests to the developed components.
(*) Work with Test Engineering to develop test strategies and harnesses.
(*) Work with Technical Communications to ensure software features and
technologies are properly documented.
Requirements:
A candidate for this position should have experience in the following:
(*) 3 years of Java SWT, JFACE, GUI development in a commercial software
product environment.
(*) 2 years Eclipse experience as plug in developer.
(*) 1 year experience with C++ under MFC environment.
(*) Understanding of GUI performance and usability issues.
(*) Strong usability orientation, ability to produce rapid prototypes and
mock ups.
(*) Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, as well
as good interpersonal and organizational skills.
(*) Ability immerse in an existing MFC/C++ code base.
(*) Bachelor?s Degree, preferably in either EE, Computer Science or
Mathematics.
Highly desired:
(*) Experience building Modeling Tools
(*) Basic working knowledge UML
(*) Understanding or development of automated GUI testing tools for
Eclipse
(*) Eclipse experience preferred in one of the following areas: RCP, GEF,
EMF, RCP
(*) Windows, UNIX and Linux development experience
(*) Prior experience in a rapid development environment, aggressive
deadlines, total quality commitment
