Department Description:
The Eclipse Development team is a part of the Application Development 
Tools group. The Application Development Tools group is responsible for 
JDeveloper, Oracle's mature, integrated and extensible development tool. 
The Eclipse team is focused on developing tools for the Eclipse Platform. 
The team is currently developing tools and extensible framework to provide 
comprehensive support for the development and deployment of JavaServer 
Faces applications using the Eclipse Web Tools Platform project. Oracle is 
the lead on this project. The team is also working on building server 
adapter that will enable deployment of Web applications built on Eclipse 
to Oracle Fusion Middleware. We are seeking developers experienced in 
building tools on the Eclipse platform who share our passion for building 
high quality software products.


Detailed Description:
Define requirements and functional design for new projects. Design and 
develop software according to those requirements.
Perform advanced unit, system and platform testing and bug resolution 
assuring high quality.
Write detailed functional, design and user documentation for the project.
Lead and manage day-to-day activities of project.
Provide technical guidance and direction to other team members.
Research new technology or development tools to remain abreast of current 
and emerging technology.
Actively mentor junior developers to develop their technical expertise.

Job Requirements
Minimum 1-year experience in developing specific product plug-ins for 
Eclipse.
Expert knowledge of Java and strong Object-oriented development skills. 
Preference will be given to those with at least three to five years of 
experience in Java development.
Experience with Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF), Graphical Editor 
Framework (GEF) a plus.
Experience in J2EE technologies, developing tools for building J2EE 
applications a plus.
Well versed in W3C standards (HTML, SVG, XML, etc)
Experience in development paradigms and frameworks such as MVC.
Advanced technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design 
and implementation
In-depth understanding of entire development process, including 
specification, documentation, and quality assurance
Advanced understanding of computer science tools, methods, platforms and 
operating systems.
