[news.eclipse.eclipsecon] Re: Schedule posted for EclipseCon 2008

Lee Anne,
Thanks for posting regarding the schedule. It looks like an excellent conference and I've been anxious to see how sessions line up in the schedule.

I'm happy to see the tutorials available to all attendees. I have found the tutorials to be a valuable part of the conference.

Free also means they will be better attended than in past years! Since the tutorials are 2-4 hours, I would hope there would be some process to ensure the rooms are adequate for the number of attendees. Often at the more popular long sessions, people end up standing or sitting on the floor. That's OK for an hour, but not for 2-4 hours when the desire is to do some hands on work with a laptop!

Power has also been an issue at past tutorials, and a head count would help this.

Can anyone from EclipseCon speak to this?

Hi Scott,

I believe this year that all tutorials are available to all who are registered for the conference (I mean "Full Pass" registration; not "Exhibits Only" registrants).

Last year, one had to pay extra for a tutorial, and so there was a separate registration. This year, all tutorials are included.

It looks like all of the tutorials will be held on Monday, the first day of the conference.

(And if I'm wrong about any of that, I hope that someone from the EclipseCon Program Committee will provide the officially correct info).

Will tutorial registration be done thru the website, as in previous years?
