Hi.
I'm curious whether an object database like db4o (
http://developer.db4o.com
) could be integrated in the Data Tools Platform. They are already supporting Eclipse with:
a) an Eclipse plugin to browse stored objects (you can check it out in the Java/Eclipse getting started video ->
http://developer.db4o.com/blogs/community/archive/2009/05/21/second-getting-started-with-db4o-video-java.aspx
)
b) a second Eclipse plugin to instrument objects to work with db4o transparently (
http://developer.db4o.com/blogs/product_news/archive/2009/05/18/automagically-enable-db4o-transparent-persistence-for-java-via-eclipse.aspx
)
Could this be a start to integrate db4o into DTP or DTP is only targeted at relational datastores? How about db4o as part of EclipseLink?
Best (thx)
