[news.eclipse.dtp] Simple example of ODA Consumer?

Hi,
Is there a simple example of an ODA consumer available? Although an 
example is always made of BIRT, BIRT is so huge and I have no idea where 
in the source to start looking for the relevant code.

I am aware of the wiki entry, "Use case - Consuming ODA Data Sources" 
(http://wiki.eclipse.org/Use_Case_-_Consuming_ODA_Data_Sources), but 
this has only scant information and then links to BIRT.

Is a basic, preferably standalone code sample available? Perhaps in test 
code somewhere?
