[news.eclipse.dsdp.ercp] Equinox/eRCP on phoneME Advanced

The open source Java ME CDC: phoneME Advanced, is an appropriate platform 
for Equinox/eRCP. IBM WEME is a good Java platform but it´s commercial and 
expensive.
Around the open source project, IST-MUSIC, we have tried to port the MUSIC 
mw based on Equinox and eSWT from IBM WEME to phoneME. However our 
experience was not successful. We found 2 different problems:
 - The Java VM is finished after approximately 15 seconds if there´s no Java 
console.
 - The declarative services bundle usually works correctly, but we have 
identified some circumstances where the service bindings generate an OS 
exception and the Java VM is killed.

We´ve also tested other OSGi framework: Knopflerfish, and it works correctly 
in phoneME.
