As you may be aware, there have been some efforts looking into standardizing 
the eRCP API. I think an eRCP standard would greatly encourage eRCP 
adoption, as companies are lately very process and standards driven. Being 
able to specify a standard, rather than just a snapshot of an open source 
project will enable more companies to adopt eRCP based solutions. A 
compliance test suite will also ensure compatibility among different eRCP 
implementations and reduce concerns about a fractured platform.

Both Eclipse and OSGi have now agreed to proceed with eRCP standardization. 
The work will be done under the auspices of the OSGi Mobile Expert Group. I 
would like to invite community participants to participate in the 
standardization effort. The role you take can be largely self-defined. Do 
you have any interest?
