[news.eclipse.commercial] Blueprint Software Modeler, one of the first commercial UML 2.1 modeling tools on the market

@-portunity B.V. announced the release of Blueprint Software Modeler, one of 
the first commercial UML 2.1 modeling tool on the market. It was built by 
@-portunity B.V. using the open source Eclipse platform.

Blueprint Software Modeler is the first application in a series of products 
comprising the Blueprint Modeling Framework. At its core, the framework is a 
fully UML 2.1 compliant modeling tool that is both scalable and functionally 
extendable. By extending the environment with additional plug-ins, one can 
move from a modeling tool to a full-fledged environment capable of managing 
project requirements from inception to deployment and maintenance.

Blueprint Software Modeler currently supports six diagrams: Use Case, Class, 
Activity, State, Package and Component. Additional diagrams will be included 
soon and delivered to registered users at no extra cost.

Blueprint Software Modeler Community Edition is available free of charge for 
non-commercial use, enabling free access to this new technology to the 
academic community.

Blueprint Software Modeler Professional Edition, our flagship modeling 
framework, is highly extendable through the use of plug-ins and complimented 
by its innovative meta modeling facility that fully supports the creation of 
meta models with automatic generation of UML Profiles and Stereotypes. The 
framework hosts an integrated OCL Editor with syntax checking, and coloring.

Blueprint Modeling Framework is build on top of the proven, industry 
standard; open source Eclipse platform and uses multiple projects from 
Callisto, the latest open source Eclipse release. Callisto, through its 
plug-in architecture, allows us to leverage existing products and assures 
future extendibility.

Plug-ins currently under development include: Meta Modeling Facility, OCL 
Editor, EMF Integration, Code Generation, Model Transformation, Development 
Process Integration
