[news.eclipse.tools.pdt] Re: Official PDT IRC channel

I recommend that people install Pidgin [1] and then add the #pdt channel to their buddy list. (Available for Mac, Windows, and Linux in .rpm and .deb flavours.)

Then, right-click the buddy list entry and set "Auto-Join" so you'll always be in the channel while Pidgin is running. Finally, right-click and set the "Persistent" flag and you can lurk in the channel waiting for someone to say your name, without having the keep the channel window open.

When someone says your name, the task tray icon will flash; when conversation happens in the channel, its name in the buddy list will change to bold. This makes it easy to stay connected without having to actively monitor for activity.

Cool, how many PDT committers are going to be monitoring the channel besides just Nick?

Hi All,

I would like to inform everyone that there's an official IRC PDT channel on irc.freenode.net server.
Join #pdt, and may be you'll get a faster response from the community :)
