[news.eclipse.technology.ohf] Re: OHF Bridge & ibmod235 server

Greetings all,
As far as we know, the IBM Testing environment at Dallas is back up and running. Information about these IHE compliant test servers can be found here:

Everyone,

Yesterday something happened to the IBM-controlled ibmod235.dal-ebis.ihost.com server (aka "Dallas") and it is currently not available. This server has been both the public staging platform for the OHF Bridge components as well as the main public RHIO (XDS and PIX/PDQ) that most have been testing with. As of now, there is no guarantee this server will return – a major complication. We will be working to move the OHF Bridge web service components to another server hosted internally and hopefully those components will return in a week or two. Another problem is that IBM currently does not have another public PIX/PDQ system available. They will be working to move their PIX/PDQ system tested at IHE Connectathon 2007 to the lswin10 server. This server will likely become our primary testing RHIO, as it will have IHE 2006 PIX and XDS implementations.

In the short term, people preparing and testing for HIMSS and Connectathon Europe will have a couple options:
1. There is a good possibility that the ibmod235 server will return temporarily. At that point, we will bring our OHF Bridge components back online and you will be able to test there pending the move of those components to a new permanent home.
2. For Connectathon Europe and HIMSS, you will need to run the OHF Bridge locally. Those who recently finished Connectathon North America will have the near "gold" version of the OHF IHE actors and OHF bridge that we will likely use for HIMSS (barring critical problems). Just continue to use those locally and wait for news on which PIX server to use. You will be notified if any bug fixes are issued.
- The problem for (2) is that we have been distributing the OHF Bridge ready-to-run binaries and configuration via the ibmod235 server. For now, please contact us directly for those files. Shortly we will announce a formal release within the OHF project and the plug-ins will become directly downloadable. We are also working to refine a build process for the OHF Bridge, so you can build the binaries yourself :)

We will send updates in regards to this issue as we find out more. In the interim, hopefully ibmod235 returns.

Thanks,
-Matt
