[news.eclipse.technology.alf] Re: Code Status
|
Vinay,
For theService Flow Designer I believe we use either the Oracle BPEL
designer plug-in or a similar tool from ActiveEndpoints. Since the BPEL
engine is pluggable, ALF has no plans to provide either an engine or
designer for BPEL. Tim is closer to this area and can provide more
information.
The Event Definition is at
http://www.eclipse.org/alf/WSDL/EventManager/ALFEventManager.wsdl
Regarding the EventRegistration, there is support for that in the
EventManager plugin, where the EventManager code is. We originally had the
notion that tools would register the events and services as they became part
of an ALF environment, but have not found a driving need for that in
practice.
The there were several SPIs conceived for the EventManager to allow
pluggable extensibility. The existing EventManager has been adequate for
the time being so we have used the resources to put other foundational
aspects in place, such as security and starting the vocabulary definition
process, but we expect to return to make the EventManager as extensible as
was originally conceived.
Regards,
Brian
