In case Benoit's message is cryptic: there's a button at the top of the
package navigator view that has two arrows in opposite directions. If
that button is down ("pressed in"), then the navigator will sync to the
editor; if not, not.

Also note that the "Link with editor" option is available on many of the views (panels) in a standard Eclipse installation: Package Explorer, Project Explorer, Navigator, Types, and others.
