[news.eclipse.newcomer] Files disappear from navigator and project views

Hi,
I'm having a problem with Eclipse (Ganymede, 3.4.2 build M20090211-1700).
Whenever I open a file (in my case Perl .pl or .pm and bash scripts)
from the navigator or project views and close it again, the file
disappears from the views. Only closing the project and reopening it
will show the file again. Anyone seen this before?
