[news.eclipse.newcomer] Synchronizing Task List (sleeping)

I have installed eclipse 3.4.1 for Java Developers on Vista 64. Each time I open eclipse I have the following in the Progress windows in the bottom:

Synchronizing Task List (sleeping)

There is a red icon next to the text, but if I press it still keeps being red (active). Is this a new feature in eclipse or is there somway to cancel it?
