I have previous programming experience but wanted to learn Java and C++. I
have been looking for some sort of IDE that would run on Mac OSX and found
out about Eclipse. What I really need is some good resources, preferably
online, for learning Java and C++. Someone pointed me towards the online
books, Thinking In C++ and Thinking In Java, but I haven't had alot of
time to read through them yet. Does anyone have an opinion on these two
books or any other good resources I could use to learn the languages?
Also, I was trying to write a program that used a JAR archive, but I'm not
sure that I extracted it properly. I don't get an error from importing the
files in the JAR, but I do get errors whenever I try to make calls on any
of the methods inside the JAR.
Thank you all for your help and patience with a total Java/C++ newb,
Jonathan
ps.
I also need to figure out what I need to do to get all the CDT/C++ files
for using the C++ perspective. Whenever I try to use the updater, Eclipse
locks up.
