[news.eclipse.newcomer] Re: Which IDE to Install?
|
If you plan to be a "C/C++ Developer" then use the package which
includes both the Eclipse platform and the CDT project.
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/eclipse-ide-cc-developers/ganymeder
As to Wascana, the homepage may be hosed, but the project page &
downloads are still working:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/wascana
http://sourceforge.net/project/platformdownload.php?group_id=199497
Generally, for CDT help, I recommend the CDT newsgroup:
eclipse.tools.cdt. I've copied this there for reference.

I am trying to install Eclipse/CDT/MinGW on my window xp. I am at the
download page http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/. There are 7 packages
for download.
Which one should I download and install?
1. Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers (68 MB) 2. Eclipse Classic 3.4 (151 MB)
I'm following a Eclipse CDT install tutorial and it's pretty confusing.
I also went to http://wascana.sourceforge.net/, but the site is down.
Could you tell me which Eclipse IDE to install, before I install MinGW?
I appreciate it.
