Hi Theo, 

I've just found myself involved with the same cut and paste problem, and 
as you say the funny thing is that it looks like no one ever saw this ... 
bug?? or whatever...

It is kind of weird that I'm being able to cut anything from a diagram 
and paste it on another canvas, but when I try to repeat this process on 
the same canvas it shows exactly as you describe. 

the question is: 

did anyone find a solution to this????
