It was quite surprising to see that gef3d installable distribution is not 
included in the galileo release.

Is it because of lack of features in gef3d? Or is it because you are short 
of committers to do the planned work? 

Infact, the concept of a programmable 3-dimensional editor to solve the 
business/technical problems is a great idea.
