Re: [wtp-releng] Respin WTP 3.9.3 due to Jetty?

Yes, I just had another look and realized that both master and R3_9 use Jetty 9.4.7 to build, but 3.9.3 RC4 doesn't include jetty plugins/features in the site.

http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/downloads/drops/R3.9.3/S-3.9.3RC4-20180302093744/repository/

Assuming that people who smoke tested that build also installed it, and had no issues, then we're probably fine in 3.9.3. Do you remember if it was downstream that had a problem, or was it in WTP itself?

For 3.10, it looks like we're not including all required plugins in the update site, which may be why there's a mix of 9.4.8 and 9.4.7. I can fix that before the dev call in a couple hours.

Nick,

In webtools.releng.aggretator/wtp-parent/pom.xml , the <jetty-repo.url> is 9.4.7 for WTP 3.9.3, and WTP 3.10.  Is that value no longer used?
I do not see any org.eclipse.jetty* plugins in the WTP 3.9.3 RC4 repository- I had thought that we had switched back to requiring Jetty again instead of just including it.  If we don't include it, then we should be OK.  (But others that had issues with WTP not including those plugins will still have issues.)
I see a mix of 9.4.8 and 9.4.7 org.eclipse.jetty* plugins in the WTP 3.10 M6 smoke test build's repository.  So that means that whatever we do in WTP 3.9.3, we are doing something different in WTP 3.10.
Hopefully this is a non-issue for WTP 3.9.3.

Looking for manifest.mf files with jetty in them I only see one, which is compatible with Jetty [9.4.7,10)

Same for R3_9:

So... I think we're good in both branches. Where did you see any hardcoded refs/requires for Jetty 9.4.5 or 9.4.7?

WTP was still on 9.4.7 for our RC4! Since you were an integral part of https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=531803 , I did not think to bring it to your attention, but the Platform moved up to 9.4.8 for RC4.  Having a mismatch between the Platform and Web Tools on Jetty has caused issues in the past- this may merit a respin.  Was the lack of a prereq update something that was just overlooked?  Or is it somehow OK that WTP is on 9.4.7 still?
(Also, our Photon builds are still on Jetty 9.4.5.)
