[wtp-pmc] FW: [cross-project-issues-dev] "The Europa World Tour" tutorial

Hi,

The following is a good opportunity to showcase WTP. I would like to discuss this in the next PMC meeting.

Subject: [cross-project-issues-dev] "The Europa World Tour" tutorial

Hi Folks (project leads in particular).

I will be delivering a tutorial titled "The Europa World Tour" at
EclipseWorld 2007 (I'm pretty sure that the name wasn't my idea). The
idea is to present broadly on the basic idea of Europa with coverage of
all the projects involved. If you do the math, you'll understand that I
really don't have a lot of time to discuss each Europa project. I intend
to spend some time on those projects with broader appeal, but I do want
to draw attention to those projects that don't normally have a lot of
attention drawn to them.

I do want to present something about every project. Unfortunately, I'm
not nearly an expert on enough things and I need some help. It'd be very
helpful if each project could provide me with about 20 minutes worth of
presentation material including the following:

1) Description of the project. Why does it exist? What frameworks/APIs
does it produce?
2) Adoption. Who is using the project?
3) Some basic development statistics. How many committers. How large is
the community.
4) How can somebody get involved.
5) Anything else that you think is valuable.

If you already have something (that I can edit, preferably), then please
send it along or forward a pointer (wayne@xxxxxxxxxxx). If you don't
already have something, please cobble something together. Time wise,
sooner is better than later; that said, I have a two months to put the
material together, so there is time.

Its a pretty daunting task, so I do appreciate your help. Besides, if
you send me something, I won't have to make it up based on your website
and creation review slides (and possibly get it wrong).

Thanks,

Wayne "Your Friendly Neighbourhood Evangelist" Beaton
