[wtp-pmc] Fw: AW: wtp 1.5 plan document

I updated the Milestone plan [1] and the Wiki [2] to agree with the Callisto plan [3]. This completes my action item [4].

Pls let me know if there are any other places where we have WTP 1.5 plan dates that need to be updated.

Arthur,

Could you please alter the document that I had taken the info from (regarding the M6 release date).

RE: wtp 1.5 plan document

I believe our "M6" date at

http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php?title=Web_Tools_Requirements_1.5

is simply wrong.

At http://www.eclipse.org/projects/callisto.php

there is an "RC0" listed for the last "staggered" checkpoint,

RC0 (1-Apr .. 14-Apr)
  • 1-Apr - Platform
  • 7-Apr - CDT, DTP, EMF, GEF, VE
  • 14-Apr - BIRT, GMF, TPTP, WTP

So ... I'd recommend we plan our "M6" for April 14th. (we could call it RC0, or RC1, but .. bugzilla is set up for "M6").

Then, after that ... nothing but RC's (Release candidates) in-line (non-staggered) with Callisto.
and the that final date be labeled as "release", not "milestone".

I've made changes to the wike document corresponding to this note ... feel free to correct!

David

RE: wtp 1.5 plan document

Good question - we should be in full code freeze in June, so what about
RC3 as the beginning of cooldown and RC4 as planned code freeze; that
leaves us a week of grace if we slip.

Can we add one additional milestone between M5(March 3rd) and M6(June
28th ) that will indicate the start of the ramp-down phase for WTP? This

will be helpful for planning purpose.

The Calisto RC dates are:

RC1 (14-Apr)
Starting with RC1, each project will apply its own ramp-down rules.
RC2 (28-Apr)
RC3 (12-May)
RC4 (26-May)
RC5 (16-Jun)
RC6 (28-Jun)
