RE: [wtp-jsf-dev] Looking For WTP Users Help

Thank you for your help. I realize that this list is for persons developing
WTP-JSF, but there doesn't appear to be any mailing lists/newsgroups for
users. That's why I prefaced my original post asking if there was a more
appropriate list.

"Also, this mailing list is for developer discussion of the JSF Tools
project. You may want to try posting to the WTP newsgroup
(news://news.eclipse.org/eclipse.webtools)."

I didn't try that because it is described as:

"This newsgroup is for discussions about the formation, scope, and direction
of the Web Tools Platform Project."

and I'm not a big fan of newsgroups; I prefer mailing lists. The webtools
FAQ appears to only deal with WTP 1.0. I realize that this is due to
everyone having busy lives and is not a criticism.

Thanks again,
Shelli

"Web Standard Tools" (WST) plugins aren't enough for JEE development -
you'll also want "J2EE Standard Tools" (JST), so I would recommend
downloading the entire WTP SDK, which gives you both WST and JST in one
package. Make sure you have all the listed pre-reqs too; check out
http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/downloads/ and read the download page
for the version you are interested in (probably 2.0M5).

Also, this mailing list is for developer discussion of the JSF Tools
project. You may want to try posting to the WTP newsgroup
(news://news.eclipse.org/eclipse.webtools). You could also try the
wtp-dev@xxxxxxxxxxx mailing list, but that also is intended for developer
discussions and you may well be redirected to the newsgroup from there.

As written in the test case you need WTP 2.0 M5, which depends on
Eclipse 3.3 M5.
This functionality is brand new and you need the latest milestone.
You can download from here:
http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/downloads/drops/R2.0/S-2.0M5-200702
230758/
There is list there of the required eclipse project that you have to
download as well.

First thing is Eclipse 3.2.2 does not supprt Java EE5. So cant develop
any java EE 5 project.

the <None> entry. When I click on the "New" button, a list of servers

displayed (grouped by vendor). None of these are named "Java EE 5
Server"

Runtime
Library.

my
list of versions to choose from is 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4. It doesn't have
5.0.
I have jdk1.5.0_11 installed on my system and set up as an installed JRE
in
eclipse.
