Re: [wtp-dev] Plans for Gerrit?

The suggestion is NOT to make push via gerrit required, but to at least make it possible.

I’d wait until Mars is out, unless all WTP committers have previously pushed through Gerrit. The transition is not as painless as the advocates make it sound. It took me two days to figure out how to configure the damn keys so that I can push again when the transition was made for simrel.

Thank you Mickael,

I understand your frustration, and will bring this up again in this weeks status meeting.
As you mentioned, this could be a painless transition we could handle in the next couple weeks if we can ensure
the Mars builds will not be compromised.

Thanks - Chuck

I didn't attend many WTP calls. Was a decision taken regarding move to Gerrit?

Up!
Not having Gerrit really makes it more difficult for us to contribute patches, and more difficult for committers to review them. WebTools is now the most difficult project to contribute to! What are the concrete plans to change that?
See my mail from October on this topic. Just enabling Gerrit without necessarily forcing its usage is just a matter of requesting it to webmaster and updating a remote URL for push (read-only consumers such as build can keep current URL), nothing dangerous, and it can be done in a couple of days.
IMO, it would be great if this could become a non-code aspect of upcoming Mars release.
