I noticed the project before, but I cannot get it to work.

Using node.js V8 debugger isn't a problem and different edtors come with different outliner-'algorhitms' that work out of the box, but for VJET I seem to be missing a vital step.

I am not sure if you heard of VJET _javascript_ Toolkit it is moving to the eclipse foundation (http://www.eclipse.org/proposals/webtools.vjet/) and currently handles some of the cases you mentioned below.
