[wtp-dev] Owners wanted for JEE and JSDT EPP packages

Dear WTP committers,

You know about the two Eclipse Packages that are closely related to the WTP project. The first one is the Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers [1], which is the most downloaded of all Eclipse packages, and the second one is the Eclipse IDE for _javascript_ Web Developers [2], which also enjoys a good user base.

These two packages are currently “owned” by David Williams, who, after discussion with the WTP PMC, decided to give the opportunity to volunteers to step in and take this role.

An owner of an EPP package is the one who decides what Eclipse features go into the package. Of course, it is strongly advised that he or she first takes feedback from the community before making any significant changes. The owner also takes care about the quality of the package. Part of the bugs reported to an EPP package typically needs to be just dispatched to the respective Eclipse project, but there are also cases which need to be resolved in the EPP package itself.

Finally, we would prefer that an owner is a person who is familiar with the internals of WTP, i.e. a WTP committer. So, if you want to take the ownership of any of the JEE and JSDT packages, let us know by replying to this mail.
