Re: [wtp-dev] Checking out org.eclipse.wst.doc.user

Kate's original note is here: http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/wtp-releng/msg06406.html

When I tried to check out org.eclipse.wst.doc.user I had selected the entry that was a direct child of HEAD

In any event I was able to get this working by looking at the org.eclipse.server.doc.isv project as an example.  There where a couple of differences between this project and Kate's note (for example they used link_to="../org.eclipse.wst.doc.user/reference_toc#javadoc_..." instead of link_to="/org.eclipse.wst.doc.user/reference_toc#javadoc_...") I'm not sure which difference made the difference.

Where are Kate's instructions? Have I seen them and just forgotten?

But, if you really mean
org.eclipse.wst.doc.user
it is in
/sourceediting/docs/org.eclipse.wst.doc.user

But, that is _user_ documentation, not "SDK for platform extenders" documentation" so hope not all the end-users have to see our JavaDoc?
Or is that the plan just because it's late and no time to do correctly?
Or, am I wrong and that really is the best thing to do? (We'll want to be consistent, if so).

That would add a bit to the minimum runtime download/install too ... though, don't know how much.

Thanks,

I was trying to follow Kate's instructions to update my JavaDoc, but I couldn't check out the
org.eclipse.wst.doc.user project.
Does anyone know what the problem is? This is the error that I get:

***

cvs co -d "org.eclipse.wst.doc.user" -P -A "/org.eclipse.wst.doc.user"

cvs [checkout aborted]: there is no repository /cvsroot/webtools/webtools.releng/docs/org.eclipse.wst.doc.user

The server reported an error while performing the "cvs checkout" command. (took 0:00.281)

Error: : cvs [checkout aborted]: there is no repository /cvsroot/webtools/webtools.releng/docs/org.eclipse.wst.doc.user
