[wtp-dev] Proposal for new WTP RSS feed

I would like to propose a new RSS feed for the WebTools project:
http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/news/ This work is being tracked on bug
190069.

Why a new feed?

 * The new feed will support rich content, such as images and links, as
well as permalinks back to the news archive.

 * Easier authoring model. News authors don't have to run the ant
scripts, just check in the news file.

 * http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/news/ is a RESTful URL. Right now
the feed is dynamically generated using PHP. We can change the location
of the feed or the implementation without having to change this URL
again.

What should I do? If you wish, try out the new feed with your favorite
reader. Provide feedback on bug 190069. If you are on the shy side,
feel free to send feedback directly to bfraser at bea dot com.

When will this happen? The plan is to collect feedback until June 22nd,
then make the change after that.

What happens to the old feed? Good question, I am still investigating
the best way to do RSS redirects. Any help is welcome.

Thanks,

Bob Fraser
