Re: [wtp-dev] M9 version numbering disappointment ;(

Sorry Max ... we will be addressing the infamous "PRETTY BAD practice of NOT VERSIONING Eclipse" post 1.0
as we join the Callisto train. And while there are "base" bugs and proposals for this, feel free to open a WTP specific
bug on the 'releng' component to ensure it gets assigned, gets priority, and gets "fixed" in a way you would find acceptable.
We have not, technically, decided exactly how we will address (if exactly like base Eclipse, or some variant of it).

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=99393

and the resulting proposal, http://eclipse.org/equinox/documents/plugin-versioning.html

[wtp-dev] M9 version numbering disappointment ;(

Hi,

Started looking at migrating hibernatetools to WTP 1.0M9 from 0.7 and see
to my disappointment
that the version numbers of all plugins already is marked as version 1.0.0
even though they clearly
aren't ;(

Meaning we will have the same problems with updatesites as we had with 0.7
upgraders.

When 1.0 comes out you will not be able to see the difference between a M9
plugin and a 1.0 plugin...

I thought this were actually being planned as something that should not
happen again...
