We haven’t spent too much time working out the details of what happens on EAR or WAR import. I imagine that for the first cut we will just apply a basic preset depending on archive type. The users can then use the add/remove features dialog to fine-tune the selection. The project feature installers have to be smart enough to not do any work if it’s not necessary.

 

A better solution (and presumable what you are asking about) would do some sort of sniffing to determine which project features should be auto-applied. I am not sure when we will have something that sophisticated.
